Built By Mamas is a specialist training programme at Locker Athletic Development designed to support women through pregnancy and postpartum recovery with safe, structured exercise. Suitable for women in any trimester and postpartum mums from six weeks postpartum (once medically cleared), the programme focuses on the physiological and biomechanical changes that occur during this stage of life while helping rebuild strength, mobility, stability, and confidence.
Each 60-minute session combines dynamic warm-ups, strength and conditioning, core and pelvic floor work, and recovery-focused cool-downs. Training is adapted to each participant’s stage of pregnancy or recovery, with exercises modified where necessary. The programme prioritises safe progression, core and pelvic floor restoration, and functional strength that supports everyday movement, birth preparation, and postpartum recovery. As Abbie (your coach) explains, “I recognise that each mum’s journey is different.”
Beyond physical training, Built By Mamas creates a supportive environment where mothers can connect, train together, and build confidence during pregnancy and early motherhood. Sessions encourage progress without pressure, allowing mums to train at their own pace while developing strength, improving weak areas, and becoming part of a community that understands the challenges of this stage of life.
